Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo fue un famoso pintor mexicano, quién nació en Coyoacán, Mexico. Cuando ella era joven, Frida Kahlo fue en un accidente de autobús. Ella sufria problemas de salud todo su vida. Ella pasó un año en una cama de un hospital. Frida Kahlo tuvo treinta cirugías en su vida. Ella basó el arte pedazo del accidente. Durante su vida, Frida Kahlo pintó 55 auto-retratos. Cuándo la gente la preguntó por qué ella pintadba auto-retratos, ella decía " Porque soy menudo solo…Porque soy el tema yo sé mejor." El diece y tres de Julio, a la edad de 47 Frida Kahlo falleció.

In this class, we are doing a Telenovela which is a Spanish soap opera. The whole class divided into groups and came up with their own.
My group's project is about a promiscuous, young women named Chachi, who is at the time seeing two guys; Alejandro (Nathan), and Juan (Zach). The morning after she went out with both of the guys Chachi spontaneously wakes up pregnant not knowing who the father of this baby is, causing an excessive amount of problems.

People in Valencia Spain have been celebrating this day for a long time, even though none of them truly know how it got started. During this week it isencouraged to bring joy down to the streets of Valencia just to prepare for this celebration. I found this celebration very interesting and I am glad I got to learn much more about it. Hopefully one day I can go and celebrate this day with the people in Valencia.

Las Fallas is a traditional celebration in Valencia Spain. This is a celebration to celebrate St. Joseph, a carpenter also believed to be Virgin Mary's husband . Fascinating sculptures made out of wood, wax, and paper mache, are made all year in order to get ready for this day of the festival. The sculptures have to be built and finished by March 15th. This celebration lasts five days and nights, every day beginning with a marching band and throwing fireworks. On the night of march 19th, a massive bonfire is made and all of the sculptures are burned and fireworks are set off.
There are multiple theories on how this celebration got started but no evidence to prove the truth. Some believe this celebration started in the middle ages when carpenters would start bonfires to burn their candle holders on March 19th ; St. Josephs day. St. Joseph is a saint of Valencia, and St. Josephs day is also father's day all over Spain. Another belief about this celebration is that bonfires were lit in order to honor the saints that were thought to arise from pagan customs. Although not everyone believes the same thing, everyone still gathers to celebrate.
The whole town of Valencia is decorated with outstanding decorations and fallas. Fallas are used for the name to describe the name of the celebration and to refer to monuments used for this day. During the week of this celebration many things happen. There is a nomination for the Fallas queens, their role will last all year and they will be invited to take part in all regional and local events. Following after that, the people of Valencia Spain go to the Exaltation, the Crida, the Cavalcade of the Ninot, the Offering of Flowers, the Planta and the Cremá. All of these events are very important, and all lead up to the final celebration day.
Before all of the statues are set aflame the people take a vote. The last statues to be burnt are the fallas who were voted to be the best. One statue is saved every year from the one who received the most votes. That statue is exhibited in the Museum of the Ninot. At midnight the party begins! At that time they start putting all of the statues into the fires, watch them burn, and celebrate.
